What is the best pet bird you can have? [Please read]?

I'm getting a bird soon, and I have no idea which one to get. They all look so pretty! It's so hard to chose. I've had experience with Finches, they were OK, but they weren't what I was looking for. They always tried to bite me, and they wouldn't come to me. They were pretty mean for being that small. Anyway, I was wondering about a pet Dove because I saw one on the Petsmart website. I called and made sure they had them, but they didn't. (If you put a dove as the best pet bird, then please include where to buy them in Georgia.) Thank you! :)
